Historical background of the family hotel Berghang centrally located in the heart of South Tyrol

Hotel Berghang - How everything began...Senior chef Mr Sepp starts his working activity as bricklayer when he was seventeen. In Laces, he had the opportunity to meet his future wife, Maria. They got married and had three beautiful childreen: Roman, Eugenie and Adelinde. The guest house was renovated in 1970 and received the name house "Berghang".  Five years later they built the " Frühlingsheim" in a record time of 10 months. In 1981 the family Vieider opened a restaurant and bar, which they close again in 1992 to devote themselves almost exclusively to the house guests. Adelinde gave birth in 1987 to a daughter named Melanie and took over the management of the family hotel in 1998. The spa area was build in 2001 and there was a further expansion in 2008. The house was completely renovated and modernized  in winter 2009/2010. On this occasion, they received the 3rd star and "Hotel Berghang " was  finally born. Adelines daughter Melanie returned to the hotel with her partner Georg in 2014 after she became a restaurant manager to support her mother with the management of the hotel.
Gregor, the owner of the house is also the head chef of the gourmet kitchen.
He shares his life-long passion for cooking also at Restaurant Astra, a Restaurant for gourmet-lover which was built in 2015.
In June of 2015 was born the daughter of Melanie and Gregor named Emily.
